Los Angeles rock band Evolove had recently formed and were ready to brand themselves with band tees. The band requested a simple design featuring a bleeding heart with a white logo overlay. The second t-shirt was inspired by the rock band Cheap Trick. It features a stacked and repeating type with the bleeding heart in bold red. Hot Topic took notice of Evolove and sparked a merchandise deal. They were featured as “Unsigned Band of the Month” in September 2011. T-shirt sales increased and additional apparel was sold online (a fitted women’s tee and a hoodie).
